The Aerial Cableway of Ritten/Renon: From Bozen/Bolzano to Oberbolzen/Soprabolzano
With a length of 4,566 meters, the aerial cableway of Ritten/Renon is the longest aerial cableway of the world, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. In just 12 minutes, passengers can travel from the high-altitude plateau of Ritten/Renon to the provincial capital of Bolzen/Bolzano. It was erected in 1966 in order to replace the superannuated railway.
Both local residents and visitors appreciate the aerial cableway as a quick and convenient mode of transportation. The views from high above the city of Bozen/Bolzano, of the vineyards of the St. Magdalena area, and of the Dolomites are truly awe-inspiring.
A ride on the aerial cableway can also be recommended for an outing in Bozen/Bolzano, with its famous arcades and the Iceman Museum.
